We build long-term client relationships by listening, by helping to solve client problems, and by building trust — with Owners, Managers, Staff, and Family.

We listen to our clients when they discuss their needs, fears, and aspirations. We are not selling books, or impersonal rote business solutions. We work with our clients to solve their unique business concerns.

We work with owners and managers to define their vision for their Company. A clear vision sets “the tone at the top” as well as the course for the Company.

At the core of a Business Plan is the Vision. The Plan itself is designed to help the client’s Company team to achieve the Vision. The parts of the Plan (Financial Plan, Operating Plan, and the Marketing Plan) are brought together to give definition to the Vision. Done well, the result unites the client’s Company team giving it direction, incentives, and discipline.

We care about the numbers. The managers must be able to identify the data which will clearly show the results of the team’s efforts. Every number in the Income Statement is driven by a price (rate) and a volume. The managers need to understand that relationship and how to get the numbers.

We listen to the owners, the managers, the employees, the customers when they talk about product development, customer service, and critical data needs. We define, with management, the steps required to help the Company reach the stated goals. We help the Company concentrate on goals which are attainable. We help win over key employees. We don’t discard what works. We help management to optimize their operations and maximize their profits.

Activities which are monitored, get done. We help management monitor their progress by developing task lists, due dates, and meeting regularly with the project team.

We work with our clients to help them achieve their goals by helping them define their vision, create a business plan and the processes to implement it. We then help them monitor their process to meet their objectives on time and on budget. One of the ways we help them monitor their process is to conduct customer satisfaction and competitor analysis surveys on a regular basis (see example .pdf).

When clients sell their company and need advice on how to manage their sales proceeds short term or long, or until they are ready to invest on their own, we can still help them. Investing in value does not stop when they sell their company. The same principles that helped them build their net worth by owning and managing their business needs to carry over into the investment of their new more liquid assets (see example).
